Privacy Policy
Effective date: [Ocotber 10, 2026]
Last updated: [Ocotber 10, 2026]
WarmPicks is a kitchen and home blog. We publish articles that help people get more out of their kitchens and homes: how-to guides, care and cleaning tips, listicles, explainers, and roundups covering everything from air fryers and blenders to coffee gear, handy kitchen gadgets, and smart home ideas.
This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information when you read our blog posts, join our newsletter, send us a message, or otherwise use WarmPicks. It covers what we collect, why we collect it, who else is involved, and the choices you have. If any part of it is unclear, write to us at contact@warmpicks.com.
Section 01Who runs WarmPicks and looks after your data
WarmPicks is run by a small, independent team: two writers who research and write our kitchen and home articles, and an editor who reviews every piece before it goes live. In this policy, “WarmPicks,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to this team and the website we run together.
We decide what information WarmPicks collects and how it is used, which makes us the “data controller” under laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Every privacy question, request, or complaint can be sent to one address: contact@warmpicks.com.
Section 02What we gather while you browse our articles
You can read any WarmPicks blog post, whether it’s a guide to cleaning your air fryer basket or a roundup of compact kitchen gadgets, without creating an account or telling us who you are.
Like every website, though, WarmPicks collects some information automatically when you visit:
- Server logs. Our web host, Hostinger, records standard details about each request made to the site: your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the page you opened, the page that referred you, and the date and time. These logs keep the site running, help us fix problems, and protect WarmPicks from abuse and attacks.
- Technical cookies. Our hosting, caching, and security tools may set small technical cookies so pages load quickly and display correctly. These do not identify you and are not used for advertising.
- Reading and device activity. Our analytics tools and advertising partners collect information about how you interact with our pages, as explained in the sections that follow.
Note: Your IP address may be used to estimate your general location, such as your country, region, or city. We do not collect your precise location.
Section 03How we measure which articles help readers
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use WarmPicks. It shows us how many people visit, which blog posts they read, how long they stay, how they found us, roughly where in the world they are, and whether they’re reading on a phone, tablet, or computer.
This tells us, for example, whether readers finish a step-by-step descaling guide or leave halfway through, so we can make our articles clearer and decide which kitchen and home topics to cover next.
Everything we see in these reports is combined into overall totals, such as how many people read a particular blog post. The reports never show us your name or identify you personally.
Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers, and the information is processed on Google’s systems. Google explains how it uses information from websites like ours here, and you can read more in the Google Privacy Policy. If you would rather not be counted by Google Analytics on any website, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We also use Google Search Console, which shows us which searches and pages bring readers to WarmPicks from Google Search. This information reaches us in aggregated form and does not identify individual searchers.
Where the law requires consent for analytics cookies, including for visitors in the UK, EEA, and Switzerland, Google Analytics only sets cookies after you agree through our consent banner.
Section 04Ads that keep WarmPicks free to read
Every WarmPicks blog post is free to read, and advertising is what makes that possible. Ads on our pages are managed by third-party advertising companies, as explained below.
Ads served through Google
Ads on WarmPicks may also be served through Google’s advertising products, such as Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can learn how Google uses cookies in advertising here, and you can opt out of personalized advertising from Google at My Ad Center.
What our ad partners can learn about your visit
To choose, display, and measure ads, our advertising partners and their own partners use cookies, tags, pixels, web beacons, and similar technologies. Through these, they may collect the following information about your visit:
- IP address
- Operating system type and version
- Device type
- Browser type
- Language of the website
- The articles you view and how you interact with ads
- Approximate location estimated from your IP address
- Hashed email addresses (an email address converted into a scrambled, non-readable code), where one has been provided
Advertising partners may combine this information with data they gather elsewhere, such as on other websites, in apps, and across your devices, to show you interest-based (personalized) ads. For instance, someone who reads several coffee blog posts may later see ads for coffee gear. Other ads are non-personalized: they are chosen based on the article you are reading and your general location.
We never receive the interest profiles that ad partners build, and we cannot see who you are. What reaches us is aggregated revenue and performance reporting. Each partner handles information under its own privacy policy.
Your controls over personalized ads
- Browser settings. The help or settings section of most browsers explains how to stop accepting new cookies, get notified about new cookies, disable existing cookies, and clear your browser’s cache.
- Industry opt-out tools. You can opt out of interest-based advertising from many participating companies through the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA). In Europe, you can also use Your Online Choices.
- Google. Manage or turn off personalized ads from Google at My Ad Center.
- Readers in the United States. Select the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link at the bottom of every page, or turn on Global Privacy Control (see section 12).
- Readers in the UK, EEA, and Switzerland. Use our consent banner to accept or reject advertising cookies. You can reopen it at any time through the “Privacy Settings” link at the bottom of every page.
- Phones and tablets. Your device settings include controls for limiting ad tracking and resetting your advertising ID.
Opting out does not remove ads from WarmPicks. It means the ads you see will not be chosen from a profile about you. Many opt-outs are stored in a cookie, so if you clear your cookies or switch browsers, you may need to set them again.
Section 05Our kitchen and home newsletter
When you sign up for the WarmPicks newsletter, we collect your email address and, if the sign-up form asks for it, your first name. We use these details only to send you the newsletter, which shares new blog posts, practical kitchen and home tips, and occasional updates from WarmPicks.
Our mailing list is managed by a trusted email service provider, which stores subscriber details on our behalf and may record basic engagement data, such as whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. This helps us see which topics our subscribers find useful. The provider handles your information only on our instructions and under its own privacy policy.
We never sell or rent our subscriber list, and we do not give your email address to other companies for their own marketing. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect promptly, with no reason required. You can also email us and we will remove you ourselves.
Section 06Messages you send to the WarmPicks team
Readers often write in with questions about an article, a topic suggestion, or a correction. When you use our contact form or email us, we collect your name, email address, and whatever you include in your message.
Form submissions are stored in our website’s database and sent to our inbox by email through our hosting provider, Hostinger. We use these details only to read your message, reply to you, and keep a record of the conversation. Writing to us does not sign you up for the newsletter.
To keep spam out, our contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check that confirms a real person is sending the message. To do this, Cloudflare may process your IP address, browser details, and basic device information. It does not read what you write in your message. You can learn more in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Section 07Reader comments on our articles
Comments are currently switched off across WarmPicks, so we do not collect any comment data. If we turn comments on in the future, we will update this policy first and explain exactly what is collected.
Section 08Social profiles, outside sources, and embedded media
WarmPicks links to our profiles on Pinterest and other social platforms, where we share kitchen and home ideas. We also use a verification tag that confirms to Pinterest that we own this domain; the tag itself does not track you. If you click through to a social platform, you are on that platform’s website, and its privacy policy applies.
Our blog posts may link to outside sources, such as manufacturer manuals, brand websites, safety guidance, and research, and may include embedded content such as videos or images hosted elsewhere.
Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other website, which may collect information about you. We do not control the privacy practices of other websites, so we encourage you to read their policies.
Section 09Product links to retailers
Some of our articles may link to products, such as an appliance, gadget, or piece of cookware, on retailer websites. Some of these links may be affiliate links.
When you follow one, the retailer or affiliate network may place a cookie to record that you arrived from WarmPicks, and we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase. This never changes the price you pay.
Anything you give a retailer, such as your name, address, or payment details, goes to that retailer under its own privacy policy, not to us.
Section 10Cookies and other on-page tracking tools
A “cookie” is a small text file that a website stores in your browser and reads back later. Similar technologies include pixels, web beacons, scripts, and local storage. The technologies used on WarmPicks fall into these groups:
| Type | What it does | Who sets it |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Core site function, security, caching, and remembering your privacy choices | WarmPicks, our host, and our consent tool |
| Analytics | Counting visits and showing which blog posts readers use | Google Analytics |
| Advertising | Choosing, displaying, and measuring ads, including interest-based ads | Google and our other advertising partners |
| Affiliate | Recording that a purchase started from a WarmPicks product link | Retailers and affiliate networks, when you click such a link |
Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot work properly without them.
For visitors in the UK, EEA, and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are only set after consent is given through our banner. Everywhere else, you can manage these choices through the “Privacy Settings” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link at the bottom of every page.
You can also view, delete, and block cookies in your browser settings; aboutcookies.org explains how for each major browser. Blocking every cookie may stop parts of WarmPicks and other websites from working properly.
Section 11Companies that help us run WarmPicks
We share personal information only as described in this policy, and only as needed for the following purposes:
- Service providers that run the site for us and handle information on our instructions, including our web host (Hostinger), our email service provider, our consent-management tool, and Cloudflare, which protects our contact form from spam.
- Analytics providers (Google), to understand how our blog posts are read.
- Advertising partners (Google and our other advertising partners), to display and measure ads, as described in section 4.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers or accountants, where necessary.
- Authorities and others, where we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of WarmPicks, our readers, or others.
- A new owner, if WarmPicks is sold, merged, or transferred. In that case, your information would stay protected by this policy or one that is at least as protective.
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, some US state laws treat allowing ad partners to collect information through our site as a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising.” See section 13 for details.
Section 12Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser setting that tells websites you do not want your personal information sold or shared.
When we detect a GPC signal from a reader in the United States, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser, and we pass that choice on to our advertising partners.
The older “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal has no agreed industry standard for how websites should respond, so WarmPicks does not currently respond to it. GPC is the signal we honor.
Section 13Privacy rights for readers in the United States
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and comprehensive privacy laws in a growing number of other states, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, and Oregon, give residents rights over their personal information.
Depending on where you live and whether a particular law applies, these may include the right to:
- know what personal information is collected about you and how it is used and disclosed, and get a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete personal information;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling; and
- appeal our decision if we decline your request.
Information used for advertising
Over the past 12 months, or since we began displaying ads, the categories of personal information that may be collected through WarmPicks and made available to advertising partners are:
- Identifiers, such as IP address, cookie IDs, device or advertising IDs, and hashed email addresses;
- Internet or other electronic network activity, such as the articles you view and your interactions with ads; and
- Approximate location estimated from your IP address.
This information is made available to advertising technology companies, such as ad networks, ad exchanges, and their partners, to display and measure ads.
Under California law this may count as “selling” or “sharing” personal information, and under several other state laws it may count as “targeted advertising.” To opt out, select the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link at the bottom of every page, or turn on GPC.
We do not collect “sensitive personal information” as these laws define it, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
How to send us a privacy request
For any other request, email contact@warmpicks.com and tell us what you would like us to do.
To protect your information, we may need to verify your identity, usually by confirming that you control the email address linked to your request. An authorized agent may submit a request for you with your written permission, and we may ask you to confirm your identity directly.
We will respond within the time required by the law that applies to you. For many state laws this is 45 days, which can be extended when reasonably necessary; if so, we will let you know. If we decline your request, we will explain why.
Where your state gives you a right to appeal, reply to our decision with “Appeal” in the subject line and we will review it. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your appeal, you may contact your state attorney general.
Exercising your privacy rights will never cost you access to our blog posts, change what you pay for anything, or lead to worse treatment from us.
Section 14Privacy rights for readers in the UK, EEA, and Switzerland
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, and Swiss data protection law, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to how your data is used, including objecting to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything done lawfully before you withdrew it.
The legal grounds we rely on
| What we do | Legal ground |
|---|---|
| Analytics and advertising cookies and similar technologies | Consent |
| Sending the newsletter | Consent |
| Replying to messages you send us | Legitimate interests (answering reader questions), or taking steps at your request |
| Running, securing, and protecting the site (server logs, strictly necessary cookies, spam prevention) | Legitimate interests (keeping WarmPicks available, secure, and free of abuse) |
| Keeping records of consent and privacy requests; responding to lawful requests | Legal obligation |
On your first visit from the UK, EEA, or Switzerland, a consent banner asks for your choices before any analytics or advertising cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time through the “Privacy Settings” link at the bottom of every page.
To exercise your rights, email contact@warmpicks.com. We normally respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in the EEA, the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work; and in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
Section 15Where your information travels
WarmPicks is hosted on servers in the United States. Our team works from more than one country, and our service providers, including Google, may process information in the United States and elsewhere. This means your information may be transferred to, stored in, and accessed from countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws.
Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers. These include the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and their UK and Swiss equivalents) offered in our providers’ data processing terms and, where a provider is certified, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions.
Section 16How long we hold on to your information
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Server logs | A short period set by our web host, after which they are automatically deleted or rotated |
| Google Analytics data | Data linked to cookies and user identifiers is kept for 14 months, the period set in our Analytics account, and then deleted by Google. Aggregated reports may be kept longer. |
| Newsletter subscriptions | Until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. After that, we keep only the minimum record needed to avoid adding you again by mistake. |
| Messages you send us | As long as needed to handle your enquiry, then for up to 24 months in case you follow up, unless you ask us to delete them sooner |
| Consent and privacy-request records | As long as needed to show that we handled your choices and requests correctly |
| Advertising data | Held by advertising partners under their own retention policies, not by us |
Section 17How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. The whole site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), WordPress and its plugins and theme are kept up to date, administrative access is restricted and protected by strong passwords, and we work with established service providers.
No website or online transmission can be made completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep the personal information we hold to a minimum, and if a security incident affected your information, we would notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.
Section 18A site made for adult readers
WarmPicks publishes kitchen and home articles for a general adult audience. The site is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the UK, EEA, and Switzerland, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If you believe a child has given us personal information, for example through our newsletter or contact form, please email contact@warmpicks.com and we will delete it.
Section 19When this policy is updated
We may update this policy when our practices, the tools we use, or the law changes; for example, when an advertising partner changes the disclosures it requires. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
If a change is significant, we will make that clear on this page and, where appropriate, let newsletter subscribers know. Where the law requires your consent to a change, we will ask for it.
Section 20Contact the WarmPicks team about privacy
If you have a question about this policy, want to make a privacy request, or have a concern about how your information is handled, please get in touch:
