Hey there, I’m Michael 👋
Every blog post on WarmPicks has a byline, and none of them is mine. That’s exactly how it should be. Julia and Emily do the writing, and I’m the last person to read each post before you do. If I’ve done my job well, you’ll never notice I was here.
In more than five years of my editing career, I’ve learned that edits come in very different sizes. Some drafts need a missing comma. Others need structural rewriting, where all the information is there but in the wrong order, and the one thing you came for is buried halfway down the page. Moving it to where you’d naturally look for it is often the most useful change I make.
The question I keep coming back to is who’s reading. Most people land on a WarmPicks page while weighing a real decision, like which air fryer fits a small counter or whether an espresso machine is worth the price. So I make sure every post speaks to that reader, in a tone that stays honest and helpful. If a paragraph starts sounding like an advertisement, it gets rewritten.
Accuracy gets the same attention. When a post mentions a metric like capacity, or a warranty term, I fact-check it before the article goes live, because readers often make their final decision on exactly those details. I also handle the SEO side, helping each page get found in search without ever letting it get in the way of how naturally it reads.
Before any post is published, I put it through three questions:
- 1Is it clear?
- 2Is it accurate?
- 3Is it genuinely useful to the person reading it?
A draft has to pass all three, no matter how polished it already looks.
I earned my Master of Liberal Arts at Harvard University, and today I review every blog post from Julia and Emily before it reaches your doorstep. So the next time a WarmPicks post gets you to your answer without a single stumble, you’ll know there was one more reader behind it.

How Michael takes on a post before it goes live
- Reads it like a reader first: before changing a word, he goes through the whole draft the way a visitor would, noting anywhere it slows down or confuses.
- Fixes the structure: if the answer is buried deep down or the intent isn’t met, he reorders sections so the most important information sits where readers naturally look for it.
- Matches it to the reader: he checks that the post speaks to someone weighing a real kitchen decision, and that the tone stays honest rather than salesy.
- Fact-checks the details: metrics like capacity, along with warranty terms, are verified before the post can move forward.
- Fine-tunes for search: headings and wording are reviewed for SEO, without letting it affect how naturally the post reads.
- Proofreads line by line: spelling, grammar, and punctuation get a final pass, so nothing distracts from the content.
- Runs the final checkpoint: the post has to be clear, accurate, and genuinely useful before it’s cleared to go live.
